A portable power generator is the second type of generator. Because portable generators are meant to be portable, they are smaller than backup generators. They are used to provide energy to areas that do not have it, such as building sites or forest clearings. Households are investing in them these days to keep the household running during power outages.

They can only do so for a few hours at a time. Furthermore, portable generators cannot be started automatically and must be started manually.

So, what type of power generator do you need to buy? It is entirely dependent on your needs. If you are an outdoor enthusiast who wishes to have power while camping, the portable kind is the ideal option. However, if you want a constant source of electricity in your home, a backup power generator is the way to go.
